What to look for on Wednesday – Ag Days 2023

Manitoba Ag Days is Canada’s largest indoor farm show and the board and management team is excited to welcome guests to the Keystone Center in Brandon, MB. Kristen Phillips, Manitoba Ag Days General Manager said, “The show highlights the best of all things agriculture! We are ready to welcome our guests each day to our dominant trade show, our exciting complementary speaker program, innovative thinking in our Innovation Showcase entries and an atmosphere second to none.  If it has anything to do with Agriculture you will find it at our show!”

Evan Shout of Hebert Group jumpstarts the program in the FCC Theatre on Wednesday, January 18th at 9:00AM by challenging us with the notion that Change is Constant – Dream Big and Innovate Fast. At 10:00AM J.P. Gervais from Farm Credit Canada, will offer his insights into Inflation Navigation. The Manitoba Crop Alliance Program begins at 1:00PM and offers a well-rounded series of sessions ranging from management and marketing to plant breeding and disease. If you have ever wanted to see an Olympian and TV personality, Wednesday is your opportunity!  Jon Montgomery, 2010 Olympic Gold Medalist and Host of the Amazing Race Canada will inspire you with his story and the message Belief – It Does a Body Good. Jon’s story will inspire you to go after what you are looking for, no matter how daunting the task may seem.

If you know a hockey enthusiast in Brandon, you will find them in the MNP Theatre at 11:00AM on Wednesday, because farmer and former Humbolt Broncos Coach, Chris Beaudry is speaking on Farm, Hockey, Stress – Discovering Your Path for Today. Chris knows stress first hand, and he also knows that it takes a lot of courage to discover what path is right for you today.  In the afternoon, Nuffield scholar Ryan Boyd will share what he is now implementing in his operation as a result of his international travels and studies.  Can we Reclaim the Prairie Landscape? starts at 2:30PM as part of the When Opportunity Knocks afternoon program.

The Innovation Showcase judging will be complete and the winners will be announced!  There are 32 contenders in seven categories, including Agronomics, Animal & Livestock, Agriculture Equipment, Agribusiness Services, Ag Tech, Farm Safety and Farm Built Solutions, sponsored by the 7 publications of Glacier FarmMedia. We encourage you to look for the green Innovation lightbulb signs and to consider how these new ideas might positively impact your operation.
