Each year we strive to bring in the most relevant, up to date, informational speakers possible to Manitoba Ag Days. This year is no exception: the program has been finalized for the 2026 show and the depth of knowledge in this list is profound!
We could not put on such a world class speaking event if it were not for our partnerships with FCC, MNP, Manitoba Agriculture, Manitoba Canola Growers Association, Manitoba Crop Alliance and the Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers Association and of course the presenters themselves. Chris Holzapfel, Research Manager

Raised on a small mixed farm near Odessa SK, Chris Holzapfel has over 20 years of experience with field crop research and has been Research Manager with IHARF since 2005. His education includes a Diploma from Olds College, Bachelor of Science from the University of Lethbridge, and a Master's degree with the Department of Soil Science at the University of Manitoba. Chris holds memberships to numerous professional organizations, previously served as an Associate Editor for the Canadian Journal of Plant Science, and received the Outstanding Young Agrologist Award in 2014. While soil fertility issues are his primary area of interest, Chris's research activities with IHARF cover a broad range of agronomic issues and crop types with a focus on applied research and helping develop practical solutions to today’s farming challenges.
