Herbicide-resistant weeds are one of the biggest threats to crop production—and the problem is accelerating.

Weeds are evolving, developing resistance to herbicide groups that once worked, and even showing higher levels of resistance in groups already failing.

Adding to the challenge, aggressive newcomers like waterhemp and Palmer amaranth are arriving pre-loaded with multiple-herbicide resistance.

Understanding how and when to test for resistance is critical to staying ahead.

After 13+ years of investing in cutting-edge agriculture and food technologies, Scott will take the stage to share what’s worked and what hasn’t and what might be coming next.

“The Sky is Falling” comes from all the tech related to those that think we are in crisis mode and we will not be able to feed ourselves in the future (I feel this is not true).

“The Cows are Coming Home” is a reference to all the new AI enhanced tech that can monitor everything going on with your livestock and your crop.

Join Scott for a thought-provoking and entertaining look at the tech transforming agriculture and some of the craziest ideas he has come across along the way.

Join Lionel and a panel of specialists as they discuss the 2025 growing season and answer your questions. This will be a great opportunity to discuss issues that you dealt with this past growing season and learn more about what to expect for 2026.

11:30 AM Question and Answer Period

Get an early look at what Mother Nature may have in store for the Summer of 2026. Join Justin as he examines the evolving ENSO pattern and compares it to past analog years to help reveal potential temperature, precipitation, and severe weather trends for the upcoming season.

Justin will also take a closer look at this winter’s precipitation totals and assess current drought conditions across the region, exploring how these factors could shape the spring transition and set the stage for the summer ahead.

This past year was tough for many farmers—higher input costs, shaky U.S. trade policies, and low crop prices all hit at once.

While it might feel like just another cycle, big changes are happening in agriculture. Global trade is shifting, and food is becoming a key part of national security for many countries.

These changes bring challenges, but also new opportunities.

Join Jacob as he breaks down what these global trends mean for Manitoba farmers and how to stay ahead.
