Kim Brown-Livingston, Weed Specialist, Manitoba Agriculture @MBGovAg

I was raised on a mixed farm in SW Manitoba, growing up on 4H and curling!  I obtained BSc in  Agronomy from University of Manitoba and a MSc in Soil Science from U of M and AAFC in Brandon.  I’ve worked with AAFC as a Research Associate, in private industry as a Regional Agronomist, with MASC as both an Adjustor and Agent, and with MB Agriculture as a Farm Production Advisor and a Weeds Specialist.  I’ve been a CCA since 1999 and added my 4R NMS certification in 2019.

Dennis Lange, Pulse and Soybean Specialist, Manitoba Agriculture @MBGovAg

Dennis Lange: Dennis Lange is the Provincial Pulse and Soybean Specialist with Manitoba Agriculture. He has been involved in the pulse & soybean industry for the last 20 years working with peas, edible beans, soybeans and various other pulses. Dennis works with growers and industry in Manitoba to help educate and promote sustainable production of pulses and soybeans. Dennis is also known for his collection of almost 150 Hawaiian shirts and counting.

Anne Kirk, Cereals Specialist, Manitoba Agriculture @MBGovAg

Anne Kirk is Manitoba Agriculture’s Cereal Crop Specialist and works out of the Carman office.  Prior to working with Manitoba Agriculture, she worked at the University of Manitoba and at a research farm.

Josh Linville, Vice President – Fertilizer, StoneX Financial Inc. – FCM Division @JLinvilleFert

Josh Linville is the Vice President of Fertilizer for StoneX Financial Inc. – FCM Division. Having grown up in Northwest Missouri on a family farm that raised row crops, tobacco and livestock, Josh brings a unique point of view to the fertilizer markets. With 20 years of experience in the fertilizer industry, Josh has operated in roles that have given him perspective on the market as a North American logistics specialist, a U.S.-based nitrogen producer, and General Manager of Trade in Melbourne Australia. Josh and his team, which spans around the world, have been hard at work educating the market on how to use fertilizer futures markets to not only offset price risk but also be able to sell products to farmers well before fertilizer producers release their physical sales programs.

John Gavloski, Entomologist, Manitoba Agriculture @MBGovAg

John is an entomologist with Manitoba Agriculture based out of Carman.  He conducts monitoring programs for some of the more common insect pests of crops, and provides information on insects, both beneficial and potential pests, to farmers, agronomists and those working in agriculture. John does numerous presentations and information updates for agronomists and farmers, and co-produces a weekly Manitoba Crop Pest Update during the spring and summer. He has worked for Manitoba Agriculture since 1997. John has a bachelor’s degree in environmental biology and a M. Sc. in entomology from the University of Guelph, and completed his Ph.D. in the department of entomology at the University of Manitoba.  Aside from entomology, John also enjoys cycling and observing almost any type of wildlife.

Ryan Boyd, 2019 Nuffield Scholar, South Glanton Farms @glantonboyd

Ryan is a family farmer from Forrest, MB, who is passionate about soil health, forage efficient cattle and no-till cropping systems. As a 2019 Nuffield scholar Ryan traveled the world investigating different grazing systems and has brought many insights home, including the practice of “Total Grazing”.
