Rolling D Workwear, Tomina Jackson, Inglis, MB @RollingDWorkwear

Tomina is the co-founder of the recently launched business, Rolling D Workwear, whose mission is to provide highly functional and classically styled clothing to women who work outdoors. Tomina saw the demand for women’s workwear after realizing the farming women in her family were wearing mens and boys clothing. This set Tomina and her Aunt Cheryl on an unforgettable adventure to launch Rolling D Workwear, proudly named after Tomina’s Grandparents’ farm. Tomina is committed to providing women who work outdoors with functional and stylish workwear made in Canada. Tomina works at High Bluff Stock Farm, a purebred Charolais and Simmental cattle and grain operation in Manitoba.

The Tulepps, Cassandra and Stefanie Lepp, Rivers, MB @TheTulepps

Cassandra and Stefanie Lepp are two sisters that run their family grain farm with their dad. They also run the ground crew at Rivers Air Spray.  Both were drawn back to the farm after acquiring their post secondary educations: a business degree from BU (Cass) and interactive media arts degree from ACC (Stef).  They started sharing their experiences on social media in 2018. The Tulepps is a representation of their life and tries to bridge the gap between the rural and city audience as well as breaking stereotypes. You don’t need to fit into one box, people are multifaceted and our differences should be celebrated.

After discussions were brought up about agriculture in Mady’s school she quickly realized she could help educate people by sharing what she knows from her point of view. She shares short videos of her involvement on her family’s grain farm to show how and where food is produced.  Brad and Mady will have an interactive conversation about Mady’s journey.

The Manitoba Ag Days Board of Directors will present the Ag Days Gives Back Grant money to 8 fire departments, Agriculture in the Classroom-Manitoba and 3 scholarship recipients.

A humorous look at life’s triumphs and tribulations through the eyes of someone living with the ups and downs of anxiety, depression, uncertainty and weather… you know, being a farm kid!

This presentation will provide the straight goods on means to reduce nitrous oxide emissions without jeopardizing yields and profits. Research conducted in Manitoba will be discussed with a particular emphasis on canola production. It is hoped that the presentation can lead to good discussion.
