Mental health is at the forefront of our culture these days. There are endless techniques or methods to work on your mental health, but which ones function for you? The concept of functional mental health is an individual process that reflects each person’s life. Crucifer and striped flea beetles, are the most chronic and economically important pests of Canola grown in Western Canada. Crucifer flea beetle has been the main pest on canola seedlings for decades but a shift in flea beetle population to striped dominant has been ongoing in several regions. The weather on the Prairies has been a story of extremes over the past few years. In 2021, a drought was raging, with rain being absent for long stretches in the summer. By 2022, the eastern Prairies did a complete 180, with massive spring flooding and record precipitation. But what will 2023 bring? In Scott’s presentation, he will talk about the extremes over the past few years and discuss what you can expect this coming year.

Windy conditions, dense canopies, and precise staging requirements often complicate the spray process. The presentation will discuss how to spray in the wind while minimizing drift, how to maximize canopy penetration with heavy crops, and how to ensure proper efficacy when controlling weeds, insects, or diseases. In addition to proper selection of nozzles and spray volume, good spray application often comes down to being able to take the time to do it right. Ultimately, this boils down to the logistics – tendering, transporting, and cleaning the sprayer.
