What if a cutting-edge model was in place to show the world the values of forage and grasslands for people in times of flood or drought? Would we double think our casual thoughts or still take grasslands for granted? What if we had a superstar water movement model that demonstrates how farm gate management can benefit the communities we live in? The Manitoba Forage and Grassland Association presents the Aquanty Project, a series of fully-integrated groundwater-surface water simulators within the Assiniboine River Basin with scenarios of different land cover. Join Steve as he explains why grasslands are still valuable real estate!

Formal organized peer groups have brought the clarity and accountability required to implement change to our operation. Brooks has had the benefit of mentors in his life and now their operation is trying to give back by offering mentorship to youth in various ways on their farm. Amber will join Brooks in telling their mentor story and how others should cultivate these opportunities.

Lydia and Wyan joined a holistic leadership group in hopes of growing their farm and learning from their peers experiences. As their operation has evolved, their mentor and peer network has remained critical for the sustainability of their farm. Putting differences aside and appreciating the nuance and plurality in the farming community is part of creating the kinds of communities that are livable, and farmable for the next generation. Mentorship, networking, working with others and being part of a peer group has been critical to their success. Relationships matter.
