Manitoba Young Speakers for Agriculture (MYSA) is pleased to announce the winners in both the junior
and senior categories of the competition, held in conjunction with Manitoba Ag Days.
The top four speakers in the junior category are:
● First – William Derksen
● Second – Janelle Gilmore
● Third – Gabriella Fewings
● Fourth – Leah Phillips

The top four speakers in the senior category are:
● First – Lillian Seward
● Second – Bianca Byers
● Third – Kaitlyn Hunt-Delaurier
● Fourth – Eve Campbell

Each of the top four finishers receive a cash prize of $1000, $800, $500 and $200 respectively. The first
place winner of each age category will have the opportunity to move onto the Royal Agricultural Winter
Fair in Toronto Ontario, which takes place November 6-15, 2026. Manitoba Ag Days will provide a
bursary of $1500 per competitor towards this experience, upon registration.

The junior judging team was composed of Fiona Jochum, Susan Kerr and Cameron Wollman. The senior
judging team was made up of Kim Beilby, Scott Day and Signe De’Athe. The timekeeper for the event was
Carlie Whetter. “Each of these individuals has a unique connection to agriculture and public speaking but
they all have a common interest in advancing the next generation of leaders”, commented MYSA
committee member Leanne Sprung.

Manitoba Young Speakers for Agriculture aims to encourage youth leadership, build public speaking
confidence, and foster a deeper understanding of agriculture’s role in Manitoba and beyond. The
competition is held with the collaboration and support of Manitoba Agriculture, Manitoba 4-H Council,
Agriculture in the Classroom Manitoba, the University of Manitoba and Assiniboine College. For more

Manitoba Ag Days is an annual three-day exposition of agriculture production expertise, technology and
equipment that is held at the Keystone Centre in Brandon Manitoba. The speaking program will take
place throughout the three-day event. The 2027 show dates are Tuesday, January 19 – Thursday, January
21st.

What to look for on Wednesday – Ag Days 2026

Manitoba Ag Days is Canada’s largest indoor farm show and the board and management team is excited
to welcome guests to the Keystone Center in Brandon, MB. Kristen Phillips, Manitoba Ag Days General
Manager said, “The show highlights the best of all things agriculture!” Board co-chair Dustin Williams
added, “We take great pride in the fact that we are farmers putting on a show for the industry that we
love.”

On Wednesday, the FCC Theatre speaking program begins at 9:30AM with the Manitoba Crop Alliance
program session titled Global Malting Barley and Malt Markets by Peter Watts. Lief Carlson speaks about
Connecting Canadian Grains to Global Markets before Anastasia Kubinec tackles Agronomy Issues of
2025. At 11:00AM featured speaker Jacob Shapiro rounds out the morning with a session titled
Geopolitics: What Lies Ahead? The afternoon series features Scott Day at 1:00PM for his take on ag tech
with The Sky Is Falling and The Cows Are Coming Home. Machinery Pete will talk about all things
equipment at 3:00PM, so after you see the big iron on display be sure to listen to his take on the
equipment market.

The MNP Theatre program also begins at 9:30AM with weather specialist Justin Oertel. Then starting at
10:00AM the morning is dedicated to Crop Talk, with experts in soybean health, weeds and insects all
participating in the discussion. The afternoon sessions are all about Finding Balance; from farm margins,
to farm transitions, and crop rotations to fertilizer markets. Then at 3:45PM join Toban Dyck and Jay
Whetter for a LIVE recording of The Extentionists. The day wraps up with a screening of Deep Rooted, a
mini-documentary about mental health in agriculture, followed by a panel discussion.

The Innovation Showcase judging will be complete and the winners will be announced at 10:00am!
There are 28 contenders in seven categories, including Agronomics, Animal & Livestock, Agriculture
Equipment, Agribusiness Services, Ag Tech, Farm Safety and Farm Built Solutions, sponsored by the 7

Manitoba Ag Days 2026 opens tomorrow!

In less than 24 hours the doors will open and the 49th Manitoba Ag Days will be underway! The final
touches are being put into place and all 540,000 square feet of Keystone Centre have been transformed
into Canada’s Largest indoor farm show! The red carpet will be laid out as we prepare to welcome you
over the course of the next three days.

Single day tickets and three day passes can be purchased online at agdays.com/tickets Tickets will also be
available on-site during all three days of the show.

The Manitoba Ag Days 2026 show theme is Produced on the Prairies. The theme will be evident
throughout the show so look for the Produced on the Prairies flags throughout the 580 exhibitors. The
Produced on the Prairies Market in the FCC Pavilion is located at the top of the main ramp and features
ten different food and beverage vendors each day.

The Innovation Showcase is back and features 28 contenders in seven categories. This is your chance to
see what’s next in agriculture – kick tires, ask your specific questions and consider how your operation
could implement these innovations.

Ag Days is known for the speaking line up and this year’s schedule includes over 80 speakers! Listen to
industry experts and farmers just like you discussing the most pressing issues in agriculture today.
Tomorrow’s featured speakers include Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, aka The Food Professor, and Bryan Buhler
with a Farming Simulator session and give-away.

place in the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba Dome Building and is presented by Heritage Co-Op.
Remember that the Murray Auto Group shuttle bus will pick you up at your vehicle and drop you off at
the doors of the Keystone Centre where you will find a complimentary coat check at the south end of the
Flynn Arena.

Manitoba Ag Days is ready to welcome you on Tuesday, January 20th. “The Keystone Centre is filled with
over 580 exhibitors and the speaker program is fantastic. We are showing off our prairie products
throughout the show.” said Michael Cousins, Manitoba Ag Days Board Co-Chair. “You’ll want to be
watching for the special flags that mark these prairie products and check out the Produced on the
Prairies Market at the top of the ramp!”

Opening day is packed with incredible opportunities to network, learn and do business!

Don’t miss the Kickoff Breakfast, which takes place in the Provincial Exhibition Dome Building from
7:30am-8:45am on Tuesday, January 20th and is presented by Heritage Co-Op. Admission is by donation
($5 minimum) and all proceeds from the kickoff breakfast will go to Ag in the Classroom – Manitoba.

The Manitoba Canola Growers Association program runs in the FCC Theatre on Tuesday morning and
begins at 9:30am with Dr. John Gavloski with a session titled Weevil Be Fine: Review of Insects Bugging
Manitoba Canola Farmers. At 10:15am a panel discussion will focus on Verticillium Stripe. The morning
wraps up with Brittany Wood from Canadian Canola Growers Association, discussing Canola’s Role in
Global Trade and Biofuels. The afternoon program begins with the Field Tested farmer panel at 1:00pm,
debating ROI decision making factors, followed by crop, nutrient and pest management sessions.

The MNP Theatre also has a full day scheduled and the morning is entitled The Future of Ag. This block
begins at a special time; be in the theatre at 8:45am to hear the final round of the first Manitoba Young
Speakers for Agriculture competition. Next, Bryan Buhler, a farming simulator mod creator will discuss
how the simulator is an opportunity to learn and FIVE lucky audience members will WIN a collector
edition box set Farming Simulator for PC. The afternoon begins with Land and Legacy: Tax Strategies for
Farm Succession by Michael Poole at 1:00pm. The featured speaker, Dr. Sylvan Charlebois, also known as
the Food Professor, takes the stage at 1:30pm to share his perspective on how Canada can safeguard its
food security while enhancing its competitiveness in an increasingly volatile world.

The exhibitors are also ready to welcome you to their booths and to talk business. Ag Days is your

Canada’s largest indoor farm show will kick off on Tuesday, January 20 2026. The three day show will
include over 580 exhibitors with both indoor and outdoor displays at the Keystone Centre, in Brandon
Manitoba.

Five Things to Know Five Days Before the Show:

1. This year’s theme is Produced on the Prairies. The theme will be evident throughout the show as
we bring you products, equipment and speakers who got their start on the prairies. At the top of the
main ramp you will find our one-of-a-kind Produced on the Prairies Market featuring ten different
local food and beverage products each day.

2. The Kickoff Breakfast will take place at the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba Dome Building from
7:30am-8:45am on Tuesday, January 20th and is presented by Heritage Co-Op. The Murray Auto
Group shuttle bus will pick you up at your vehicle and deliver you to the doors of the Keystone
Centre you can find the safe and secure, complimentary coat check at the south end of the Flynn
Arena.

3. Our Innovation Showcase features seven categories and 28 contenders, and is presented by the
seven brands of Glacier FarmMedia. Patrons can read all about the innovations at

first hand and see how these innovations might fit in their operations. Look for the green light bulbs
hanging in the show to signify Innovation Showcase entries. The Winners of each category will be
announced on Wednesday, January 21st at 10am.
