Each year we try to bring in the most relevant, up to date, informational speakers that we can to Manitoba Ag Days.  This year is no exception: the program has been finalized for the 2018 show and you are in for a really impressive line up of  speakers.  Be sure to check the show guide for approved CEU presentations ; we have been approved for 24.5 CEU Credits this year as follows: Nutrient Management: 3.5 Soil & Water Management: 3 Integrated Pest Management: 2.5 Crop Management: 11.5 Professional Development: 2 Manure Management: 0 Sustainability: 0

Steve Crittenden, Soil Scientist

Steve Crittenden is currently a Research Scientist in Soil Nutrient Management at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Brandon, Manitoba. He studied Soil Science at University of Guelph (M.Sc.) and Soil Quality at Wageningen University in The Netherlands (Ph.D.). He also did a postdoc in Nutrient Management at Cornell University in U.S.A. He has worked on transport of N, P, and E. coli from manure in drainage and runoff water, soil quality of tillage systems in organic and conventional farming using biological, chemical, and physical indicators, and on revising the New York Phosphorus Index and linking P indices and soil tests between regions using soil P saturation. At AAFC he hopes to evaluate soil management practices that will give producers in Canada the best opportunity possible to sustainably adapt to changing growing conditions and to continue working with soil P conservation.
