Each year we strive to bring in the most relevant, up to date, informational speakers possible to Manitoba Ag Days. This year is no exception: the program has been finalized for the 2024 show and the depth of knowledge in this list is profound!

Dr. Rex Newkirk, Associate Professor
Dr. Rex Newkirk is an associate professor and Saskatchewan Research Chair in Feed Processing Technology at the University of Saskatchewan and leads research at the Canadian Feed Research Centre located in North Battleford, SK. His research is focused on adding value to Canadian grains through innovative processing technologies, including Fusarium reduction strategies, steam explosion, starch modification, applications of Inline NIRS in feed mills and natural sources of probiotics in Barley and other grains. He is also actively involved in commercial research and technical support to the value added processing industries. Prior to joining the University of Saskatchewan Faculty two years ago, Rex spent 12 years providing Technical Marketing support as well as product development support at the Canadian International Grains Institute (Cigi) in Winnipeg. Rex has worked in countries all over the globe in his efforts to get more value from Canadian grains.
