Wednesday January 18, 2017
2:30 pm - 3:00 pm
FCC Theatre

UAVs are becoming more popular every day, and the applications for their use are growing at the same rate.  There are many misconceptions about the use of UAVs, as people often tend to think of them more as toys than as aircraft.  The fact is, a UAV operator is called a “pilot” because they are at the controls of an aircraft that shares the skies with planes carrying human beings.  There are many applications in agriculture for UAVs which will be discussed, including NDVI and Digital Elevation Modeling, however, we will also focus on the importance of understanding the regulations, limitations, and safe practices for operating UAVs commercially.
