An Australian Perspective on Farming Issues

Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. in Theatre #1 is the place to hear Bill Crabtree speak.

Bill Crabtree is Australia’s foremost authority on no-tillage and is known as “No-Till Bill”. In his home state of Western Australia the adoption of no-till is 95%, perhaps the highest of any large region of the globe. Bill will discuss the importance of building carbon in the farming system in order to extract extra nitrogen benefits; he will encourage good techniques to maintaining herbicide efficacy as the alternatives are costly and less efficient and he will share the limited role of cover crops in dryland Australian farming.

When you are looking for Inventors’ Showcase at the 2012 show look to the north end of the building rather than the arena at the south end where it has been for a few years. Just head on down the Canada Room Hallway and keep going
to the very end and Barn 4 will be on your right. Look for the gold draped booths around the outside of the room.
